A Night of Copilot, Power Automate, Power BI, and More!

Welcome to a night of learning about Copilot experiences in data development and then how to use Power Automate, Power BI, and other M365 tools to create a real-time Power BI dashboard. Check the Speaker Bio section for speaker bios and session abstracts.

Warwick Rudd

Warwick Rudd is a Data Platform MVP, Microsoft Certified Master – SQL Server 2008, Founder and Principal Consultant at SQL Master Consulting. With 20+ years of experience beginning with the release of SQL Server 6.5, he has worked in both Australia and England from small start-ups to Multi-National Corporations. He is a frequent speaker at local SQL Server User Groups / Meetups & SQL Saturday events in Australia and New Zealand as well as many international in-person and remote presentations. When not playing with the SQL stack, Warwick likes to get away to the cold and spend time snowboarding.

Garrett Dutton

Garrett is self-proclaimed “Turbo Nerd” and an Enterprise Architect at the Kentucky Community and Technical College System with a focus on Microsoft cloud services and automation.

Github Copilot in Azure Data Studio (Warwick Rudd)

Maverick & Iceman were the perfect partners in the sky.  In this session we will have a look at why Azure Data Studio and GitHub Copilot can be your Maverick and Iceman combination to help make your day to day easier and more efficient.  The GitHub Copilot extension in Azure Data Studio is your AI pair programmer to help you be an even bigger rockstar.  We will look at 3 different languages inside of a single tool to show you how to get started.

Let’s Build! RealTime PowerBI Dashboard (Garrett Dutton)

Garrett’s abstract: In this session we’ll use several of the freely available tools in the M365 suite of products to create a real time updating PowerBI dashboard that surfaces data collected from Microsoft Forms along with notifying the Team of new entries, writing data to MS Lists, and orchestrating it all together using PowerAutomate.

His 18 years of technology experience has made him an expert in both the technical and organizational aspects of IT. He likes nuts-and-bolts work like SharePoint farm and Office 365 administration, but he also enjoys creating the business process and people conditions necessary for effective implementations. With an emphasis on the big picture, Matt is at his best when working with employee groups and teams, helping them find hidden value in the processes and digital artifacts they thought they knew. On a personal note, he’s a fan of fine bourbon, winning basketball and horse racing.
