Windows Admin Center is FREE to use. Let’s look at it!

Windows Admin Center (WAC) comes free with Windows Server and allows you vast visibility and control over your environment.

This HTML5-based UI can be set up in minutes and can manage a wide variety of servers, roles, and functions. There are new releases every six months, and paired with an extensible API, WAC is always going to be getting new features.

We’re going to tempt fate and demo it live, so come wish us luck!

June 2018 Meetup

Topic: Project Management: Managing Expectations and Dealing with Delusions

In June we will hear from Solarity as they discuss their project management work with LFUCG on various projects, including a migrating over 1,000 machines to Windows 10.  Whether you are a full time project manager, or an average IT worker, most of us will have some sort of project that needs to be completed.  Join us to get some tips for completing your next big technology project!

Bert Walther, Project Manager, has had the privilege of working with many highly qualified people in the Central Kentucky business community. With their help he has gained over 20 years of technology and operations experience, including 10 years of experience in higher education IT management, and over 10 years of project management expertise. In his various roles and responsibilities, he has fostered organizational development through effective program and personnel management, and worked hard to deliver project and initiatives as designed and anticipated.

Join David Baldwin from 1E for a tour of your options for getting Win10 deployed and keeping it current. We’ll talk through Modern Management, Co-Management and Traditional management techniques as well as a deeper dive into OSD with SCCM and how to get the most from OSD with a data-driven task sequence. We’ll finish with a walk-through of 1E’s Windows Servicing Suite (WSS) and what it can do for your organization.

David Baldwin is a Senior Solutions Engineer with 1E and been with the company for the past three years. He started managing 400 desktops and laptops with the predecessor to SCCM (ConfigMgr), SMS in 1998. He’s worked for small and large companies over the years always managing desktops and/or the ConfigMgr infrastructure itself. He has also worked for several Midwest consulting companies doing both CM architectures as well as running Windows XP, 7, 8.1 and 10 migrations for companies small and medium.
