Deployment and Governance of PowerBI for the Enterprise

Join us as Zach Willand discusses aspects of PowerBI that may help new administrators or report builders of the service get started.  Additionally, the talk will highlight the benefits of using app packages, using data flows to reduce strain on refresh time, the costs/benefits of near real-time data vs real-time data, and common data architecture mistakes.

Zach Willand is a Business Intelligence developer at Davis H. Elliot Company. Upon graduating college, Zach was a research analyst in a virology lab at the University of Kentucky where his love of data and analytics began. He then obtained his M.S. in Applied Engineering and Technology Management with a concentration in cyber security. Currently, Zach has been focused on driving organizational improvement by utilizing tools such as Power BI, SQL, and cloud-based solutions like Azure Data Factory and Azure Automation to facilitate better business decisions with meaningful data. Zach was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, but has been living in the Central Kentucky area for the last two decades.
