Provisioning Teams, the good, the bad, the ugly…

Abstract:

Many of us in our daily roles are asked to provision, secure and configure Microsoft Teams in rapid fashion for our organization. In some organizations this can be quite time consuming depending on the various layers of complexity in the configuration requirements we were given. This session examines many different interfaces and methods to automate the process of creating a Team (capital ‘T’), securing it, configuring it from settings right down to creating a Plan within it. To do so, we will examine the request process and data collection using PowerApps, then provisioning & configuration using several methods of automation including from Flow/Azure Logic Apps, Azure Runbooks/Functions, Powershell, and GraphAPI.

The session will also dive into learning best practices for staying organized, dev->-test->Prod promotion, and Power Platform governance. This session will primarily focus on the Power Apps Canvas Apps option and Power App triggered Power Automate Flows.

Microsoft Flow is a cloud-based software that allows employees to create and automate workflows and tasks across multiple applications and services. These flows allow the IT organization to provide tools and a platform to end users allowing them to automate their workload. In this talk we will talk about the benefits of using flow. Delve deeper into what flow is, and how to use it. We will also talk about some common scenarios in most organizations.

Speaker: Russell Patrick

Russell Patrick is a Senior Consultant at HMB a technology solutions company in Louisville, Kentucky. Working in SharePoint for five years in three different capacities, Russell can answer almost everything on the topic. He is a co-organizer for the Louisville SharePoint Users Group and an active member of the Louisville Microsoft Users Group. Russell wishes to one day bring SharePoint Saturdays back to the Ville.
